Transformers: The Last Knight easily captured the top spot at the South Korea box office. However, its performance is considered disappointing when compared to the rest of the franchise.

Accounting for 64.1% of total box office revenue for the weekend, The Last Knight earned ₩14.6 billion (US$12.9 million) from 1.75 million admissions over its first five days on release. The film opened on over 1,700 screens – the widest release of the franchise.

However, the opening also marks the lowest opening of the franchise. In 2011, The Dark Side of the Moon earned ₩33.1 billion (US$29.1 million) from 3.36 million admissions over its first five days on release for a franchise-high total of ₩74.8 billion (US$65.9 million) from 7.78 million admissions.

Three years ago, Age of Extinction opened with ₩22.3 billion (US$19.6 million) from 2.64 million admissions over its first four days for a total of ₩44.0 billion (US$38.7 million) from 5.3 million admissions. With major local titles and Spiderman: Homecoming opening in the coming weeks as well as negative word-of-mouth, The Last Knight will likely replace Age of Extinction as the lowest grossing film of the franchise in South Korea.

Opening on only 169 screens, sci-fi drama The Circle opened in fifth place, earning ₩420 million (US$370,000) from 50,100 admissions over four days on release.

With Transformers taking up a large number of screens, nearly all the holdover films in the top ten suffered week-on-week drops of over 50%.

Local thriller A Day (하루) held onto second place, earning ₩1.89 billion (US$1.67 million) from 226,000 admissions between Friday and Sunday, marking a week-on-week drop of 52.8%. The CGV Arthouse release has made ₩8.02 billion (US$7.06 million) from 989,000 admissions after two weekends.

The Mummy dropped to third place, earning ₩1.36 billion (US$1.19 million) from 162,000 admissions between Friday and Sunday after a week-on-week drop of 68.2%. The Universal release has made ₩29.5 billion (US$26 million) from 3.56 million admissions after three weekends.

The Villainess (악녀) has made ₩9.13 billion (US$8.04 million) from 1.13 million admissions. Wonder Woman has made ₩17.3 billion (US$15.2 million) from 2.14 million admissions.

Real (리얼), Anarchist from Colony (박열) and Okja (옥자) open this weekend.
