Netflix has acquired South Korean mystery thriller Forgotten (기억의 밤) produced by Kiwi Company and directed by Jang Hang-jun.

Starring Kang Ha-Neul (Midnight Runners 청년경찰) and Kim Moo-Yeol (Warriors Of The Dawn 대립군), the film is scheduled for a Korean theatrical release on November 29. It will then stream on Netflix globally in more than 190 countries in early 2018.

The lead producer on the film, Jang Won-Seok, has credits including recent hit The Outlaws (범죄도시), and older titles such as Tunnel (터널), War Of The Arrows (최종병기 활) and Confession Of Murder (내가 살인범이다).

The story follows two brothers – the older of whom is kidnapped and returns home suffering from memory loss and strange behaviour.

The film marks Jang Hang-jun’s return to directing feature films after a nine-year hiatus when he worked in television, scripting and directing popular shows such as Sign and Infinite Challenge. His earlier feature film credits include Break Out (라이터를 켜라) (2002) and Spring Breeze (불어라 봄바람) (2003).
